Some information about what field day is on our Facebook page: Charlotte County Amateur Radio Club.  Here is the information that is on Facebook.

  • The Charlotte County Amateur Radio Club will soon be hosting its First Annual ARRL Field Day Event.
  • Field Day is ham radio’s open house. Every June, more than 40,000 hams throughout North America set up temporary transmitting stations in public places to demonstrate ham radio’s science, skill and service to our communities and our nation. It combines public service, emergency preparedness, community outreach, and technical skills all in a single event.
  • Field Day has been an annual event since 1933 and remains the most popular event in ham radio.
  • We welcome the public to come to learn more about ham radio! We will set up our gear in a field close to Chase City on Saturday, June 26th, and operate our radios until Sunday afternoon, June 27th.
  • The goal is for us to operate in non-conventional situations.  We will use alternate power supplies, such as solar, battery; and, or, generator, or other creative methods of powering radios to make contacts with as many other radios around the world as possible.
  • Saturday evening, we will dine together on BBQ and other treats.

Would love to see you there. You can be a participant or an observer
