- Pledge
- Prayer
- Attendees: Pat, Joe, Dan, Jason, Lance, Nevin, Alyssa, Doris, Larry, Alvin, Susan, Jason. We had 3 visitors: Chris and Kelly Slayton and Marty Shute.
Reports:
- Treasurer: We have a total pf $453.20.
- Secretary: A motion was made, 2nded to approve the Treasurer’s and Secretary’s report.
Old/New Business:
- Heart of Virginia Festival: according to the website, it is still scheduled for the first Sat. in May. Pat will contact Farmville and see if it is still scheduled.
- Marty said that Cumberland has a Patriots Day in April. Sometimes a nonprofit organization can get their table for free. Pat will check on this too. If not, the table will be $35.
- Reminder that dues are $10 a year and family members are $5.
- Last month we had 7 that had paid. Today, 6 paid.
- There were 11 on the last net meeting.
- Nevin had approached Dan to be a test center. Dan has a VE and Nevin received his VE. Nevin would like to volunteer at other test centers to see how to do it and get a clarification on a question. Alvin mentioned that the Lynchburg club did a presentation on what VE involves and how to get it. Dan will check will the club and see if we could watch it(it was on Zoom).
Any suggestions on how to increase funding?
- Suggestions included: selling hot dogs, doughnuts, raffle (ask businesses for donation) and the
- 50/50. One club had raised $1,000 on their 50/50.
Still looking for someone to help us filing for VA nonprofit status: maybe a lawyer to do it.
- Fox Hunt: Was nice to see Jason Hawkins at the meeting. He gave an update on the Fox Hunt. He said he could change to a lower frequency to transmit. What size area? He said he was in one and drove 10 to 15 miles. Jason thinks that 5 miles would do, maybe Keysville.
Next meeting is April 11 due to the 4th being Easter.
See you then!
